We found out I was pregnant 2 days before my 1/2 marathon on Feb 23rd. I wasn't feeling good and thought I was getting the flu/stomach bug. I left the test in the bathroom assuming it would be negative and minutes later Derek went in to look at it and came back saying it was positive. We were both in shock! I went in to the doctor the next day for blood work and found out the following Monday that we were in fact preggo! I did end up running that stinking race (my one and probably only 1/2) and we kept calling Colin our "maybe baby";)
We always said we'd wait until after residency to start having kids, but planning is for the birds apparently :) Overall we were very excited, but I don't think it really sunk in until about 16-20 weeks that we were having our own baby!
Thankfully early on I only felt sick from week 8-10...most mostly just nauseated throughout the day and very very tired, but managed to only get really sick twice and still was able to work and workout at the gym pretty easy.
Some weekly photos--
Wahoo-it was nice to be done with the 1st trimester!
