When I was around 6 months pregnant, we decided to start working on the nursery. I liked neutral colors and we both liked the animal theme, but couldn't find the bedding we really wanted at stores. My sweet sweet sweet sister-in-law offered to make his bedding, and after a few hours at her house looking at fabrics online, we ordered fabric and had a plan. It took a weekend in Birmingham with Jess and Donna...I was moral support and ate snacks since I have no sewing ability...and it was done. I love the bedding so much and the curtain and pillow make it complete. They worked really hard on it all and I couldn't have pictured it more perfect! We love it! I've gotten a lot of compliments on their work ;)
We got his furniture at Babies R Us, we liked that it looked somewhat sophisticated and he can use it for years since it converts to a twin, then a full size bed.
Hard at work :)
We ordered tree limb decals for above the bed and Derek put those up.
My only creative part to contribute was his name wall. Pinterest of course :) We used the left over fabric from the bedding and stapled it around canvas squares. Then painted wood letters and stapled them on. Donna made strips for them to hang from with left over fabric, and we strung them on a curtain rod. Ta-Da!
We feel like it's a pretty peaceful place for our Nugget :)
