Surprise surprise

Us crazy kids decided to come up to Huntsville this past weekend to surprise mom for her birthday. It was the first time we were all home at the same time in over 5 years probably. Derek was the only one missing (work) and we missed him!!

Mom was definitely surprised and we all had a fun day together! Everyone stayed the night (babies and pack and plays everywhere!) and their families left Sunday. Me and the kids stayed until Tuesday morning. It was nice to have extra help and Derek got to sleep during the day in peace at home ;)

We visited Mimi while she was volunteering at the Asbury thrift store. Colin wouldn't part with this fire truck. I told him on the way to school that he had to leave it in the car. Wrong thing to say!

 

Sunday we spent the morning with Doozie, Nana, and Aunt Jessie. Colin had a big time playing outside and little C spent a lot of time sleeping. Nana got the boys some cute outfits too! Speaking of sleep- this child will sleep great 1 night and then wake up every hour the next! He still has a snotty nose and a small cough, so that may be the reason. But it's rough on this mama when Derek's working and can't help at night! One day they will be sleeping in and fighting me to stay in bed...right?!

 We got back in time for Colin to go to school yesterday (he wasn't too thrilled-every time I ask him if he wants to go to school he boldly states NO!). I had a lot to catch up on at home. Today Derek was home and we caught up on errands and house stuff in between playing with the boys. I haven't been good about my big C monthly updates. He turns 2 in less than a month! He is quite hilarious and bossy these days ;) He's become so patient about us needing to tend to Connor and has been such an easy boy to take out/travel with. Love him sooo :)

He makes us put Ellie and Doggy on his rail most nights...within a few minutes he grabs Ellie but most of the time Doggy stays up there. Maybe he's watching over him while he sleeps? ha! On a sucker kick lately, he told me today to go downstairs to get 'sucker'. He then needed 2 at all times this evening...little stinker.

Recovery week

We are all finally healthy again, wahoo! Derek had the week off and minus Connor sleeping awful at night, it was a good week! He slept much better last night after giving him more food each feed yesterday.

 

I got to keep these 2 babes Monday while Cait worked and Josh had class! It had been too long since I had one on one time with them!

This little princess gives me my girlie fix! Can't wait til we can go get pedicures together!!

Speaking of pedicures, Marjorie and I snuck away without kids Tuesday to get coffee and our toes done!

Big guy got a haircut and has spent a lot of time with daddy this week!

 

Wednesday Derek and I had a lunch/shopping date without kids. It's been a while since we've had a date! Wednesday night Derek and Ross got to have a guy night, which hasn't happened in a while either! We need this baby to sleep better so we can get back out with human life at night ;) Last night Seth and Jess came over for dinner. Colin followed/bossed around Seth all night, ha.

This is how Connor feels about Friday! We're not too excited about Derek having to work the next 5 nights! Lets hope little bit sleeps for me!

 

Also, my wild momma turned 55 years YOUNG yesterday! Wish we could have been there to celebrate! You get funnier, crazier, sweeter, and a little more forgetful ;) each year mom, love you! :)

Man down!

Actually, 2 men and a momma down. Since I started writing this post, Derek has joined the sick party too :( Tuesday we all got hit with the sickness. Colin got sent home from school with a cough, a few hours later Dr. Soong confirmed our suspicion of Croup. It's Colin's favorite virus ;) Later that evening my throat starting hurting and little Connor's nose started running. Fast forward to today. All of us are still snotty, but improving finally. Everyone is taking their medicine well and all the humidifiers are going!

Snotty babies are so pitiful...lots of time in the Bjorn this week.

 

Mornings were not the best this week....Colin was happy to just sit in his stroller this week (with a vitamin smoothie, of course!)

I showered for the first time home alone with them. They just sat there, ha.

Emory and Connor had a walking date Sunday while Colin napped. They are 5 weeks apart.

 

 

Sunday night the kids and I went over to Noah's house to have a late birthday party for Chelsea! She turned 25 years (young-lucky girl). The kids had a ball and dad and mom even came down to surprise everyone!! Pizza and cake, yummy!

Thankfully, Connor slept better than he has the past week last night. Derek has 4 days off starting today, wahoo! Hoping to get back to our normal routine and everyone feeling well again!
