Checking in from our Birmingham work/babysitting trip! Friday night before we left we had a double date with our neighbors! We went to dinner and Nightfall (free Friday night outdoor concert). It was such great weather!
We aren't that great at selfies ;) Love our date nights though! And we will so miss these crazy two!!
Alicia got to ring the bell since she got a drink with moonshine, haha. Only in hillbilly Tennessee ;)
We also had to walk down the block to City Café for huge desserts before heading home!
Saturday we loaded up our 2 vehicles and hit the road. Packing house stuff, outdoor tools, our clothes and Colin's clothes/toys/food for 10 days was no easy task... We got it all in though!
As we were leaving, we passed the Riverbend race runners. I remember running that race 2 years ago..tough one over all the bridges, but pretty! Colin passed out immediately and slept the whole way. Our good little passenger!
We had a lot of visitors while working at the house this weekend. Mimi and Poppy came Saturday...Poppy helped go pick up our kitchen table set and pressure wash the driveway while Mimi helped me with paint samples and Colin. Chelsea brought over Mason for a bit to play too! Jessica and Seth stopped by also and it was great to hear other peoples votes for paint inside. I'm so indecisive on things like that. I will probably end up flipping a coin..
Cute cousin love! Colin watched Mason so close and kept wanting to rub him...ha.
This kid is in love with sitting up! Shopping carts are his favorite and he sat through an hour grocery trip at Publix with no problem today! He also loves restaurant highchairs and we've practiced that a lot this week. He just sits there quietly and feeds himself yogurt melts and puffs.
Today Jessica and Seth left for there big Europe trip! They are going to some cool places for 10 days. We get to keep Kirby (and Darling)! We said bye to them and headed back to the house for more work. I got all of the cabinet/drawers cleaned out while Derek worked outside. Doozie and Nana came by for a quick visit and got the house tour! Colin has been such a fussy kid sitting in the new house with not much to do. I don't blame him...we try to go out and run errands or do stroller rides to give him a break. Derek grilled us a nice steak dinner and when Colin woke up we headed to the neighborhood pool! It was the first time for Colin and he LOVED it! He didn't make a peep the whole time we were there!
He loved it all...even the cool-ish water! These guys are inseparable :)
He splashed for so long! He was so soaked when we left. We always make sure to get water on his face in the bath so it won't freak him out in the pool and sure enough it didn't bother him. He splashed his face constantly and thought it was great. haha.
He was so proud of himself and of course very curious how his boat float that Doozie and Nana got him worked:) So glad he loved the pool because we sure do! I know where we will be this week in the evenings!
We are apparently exciting babysitters...hehe. I love their lounging evening routine! Kirby is so interested in Colin and Colin gets so irritated when he walks away from him...we are going to have a fun week!
