I really can't believe it, but Derek was off for the holiday weekend and didn't even request it. Such a wonderful surprise! It's been about a year since Derek has joined me for a weekend at my parents so we woke up Friday and hit the road to start our fun weekend! Noah's crew was there too and Colin enjoyed the cousin time. It was a hot weekend so we had a lot of water/pool time! The boys did so good this trip...easy car rides, slept awesome, were well behaved, and all. Poor Connor got his 7th tooth while we were there and we just noticed it today. He was pretty fussy all day today so glad to know why!
Pawpaw rocking 1/2 of his grandkids ;) Colin enjoyed popsicles on the porch every night.
Saturday we spent the day at the river with Derek's family to celebrate Seth and Jess's birthdays! 33 and 30 years young! We spent a lot of time on the boat per Colin's request! The boys loved riding on the water and Colin even tried tubing! It went great until we stopped the boat to pull them in and they all slid off the tube. Colin had a minor panic attack about the whole thing and any time anyone asks him about the boat or river, he has to tell them about falling in and being scared...May be a while before he tries that again :) It was fun hanging out all together and Seth's mom and stepdad even came! We had a big lunch and yummy cake and headed back after Connor's nap. They boys slept great that night!
Co-captains!
:)
Colin had to join in blowing out their candles!
Sunday we woke up and went to play with Becca's family at her parents house. So many memories at that house and pool that started almost 20 years ago! So fun to see our kids play together now. Jack in only 3 months younger than Colin. Becca brought out some poppers for them to throw and that was a big hit! After naps we all went to my parent's neighbor's house to swim! They have a cool salt water pool and the kids had a good time jumping off the waterfall and playing.
Kiddos everywhere! Micah and I had some girl time and she has perfected "dada"
The boys were both pretty intrigued with baby Micah. Colin kept asking where she was and saying she was so cute :)
Monday we woke up and Derek, Noah, and dad took the boys next door to swim again while Chelsea, mom, and I took Micah shopping for a bit before they went home. After naps we took the boys to the Dublin park festival. It sure was hot, thank goodness for snow cones, so we didn't stay long. The bus ride there and back was reason enough to go! We keep telling Colin that when he gets bigger and goes to big school he'll get to ride the bus (since every time he sees one, he thinks he can ride it)...well now he thinks he can ride them all :) They both loved it. Colin got to do some bounce houses and got his face painted and after about an hour we headed back home for dinner and fireworks on the porch. It was nice to not have to drive somewhere to see them!
Open kisses for Mimi!
Sleepy, hot boys. Colin loved sitting in the front seat and watching out the front door :)
Watermelon cool down!!
Great way to end our trip! Now time to rest up before leaving for the beach this weekend!
