Call me clever, but when my parents asked what I wanted for Christmas...I knew exactly what to tell them. A weekend away without kids ;) They were onboard and we went last weekend for 3 days. The last trip Derek and I took, I was 8 months preggo with Connor and it was to Chicago for Derek to take his boards. So, about 20 months ago. We were overdue for some relaxing time together! We went to Orange Beach since Alabama decided to be in the 70s all weekend and it was great weather. We read a lot, got massages, played a game of golf, and did lots of eating at our favorite places! It's amazing how much free time you have when you're not caring for 2 toddlers all day, haha. We got to eat in peace for 3 whole DAYS! Craziness! Of course every hour we talked about how much they would have loved coming with us and that we missed them. Parenthood makes you crazy like that...
Easy shopping trip...got the essentials!
So much prettier without the rows of chairs out everywhere!
I ate crab legs for 3 meals straight...SO good!
Walking on the beach...but first we loaded up our pockets (I only eat 3 colors and Derek eats the rest)
Relaxing mornings eating on the deck. I couldn't sleep past 7, but it was nice to lay there and not have to rush to a hungry Connor ;)
Derek was a good sport and let me golf with him...it's been probably 8+ years since I've joined him...
I wasn't as horrible as I used to be, but I'm pretty sure I won't get an invite for another 8 years.
We enjoyed the beautiful weather!

Our 2 favorites in 1 day- Desoto's and Cosmos!
Loved our time away! 12 years with this guy!
The kiddos had a fun time with Pawpaw and Mimi. They rotated seeing cousins at each house, hit up the park, and Colin got to eat at his favorite type of restaurant (queso +chips). They were busy and happy boys. We did FaceTime and got some pictures...didn't seem like they missed us tooo much ;) Thank you mom and dad!! Of course the boys are on high alert this week whenever we leave, haha. May be another 20 months before we get to leave them again :)
Endless books with Mimi!
