So much fun squeezed in 1 weekend! Friday, Colin and I went to visit Keshia and Alli in Chattanooga. I'm quickly running out of weeks to travel! It's always nice to get some girl time in. Of course our husbands work pitiful schedules that include pretty much every weekend/holiday, so we treated ourselves to a girls afternoon while the kids napped with the babysitter for an early Mother's Day! We had an uninterrupted lunch and a great massage! The kiddos played so good this time and we hit up the park for a bit and they were worn out! Of course after kiddo bedtime, Kesh and I stayed up way to late chatting and eating sugar! I so love the friendship I have with her!
She loves to 'mommy' Colin, holding his hand, chasing him with his sippy cup/paci/Ellie :)
Ice cream sandwiches to cool us all off!
Unfortunately our weekend was heavily sprinkled with meltdowns, teething, and diarrhea (like every hour...) He was still a trooper traveling for the most part. Have I mentioned how bad teething is once babies get big! Poor kid is still fighting fever and diarrhea today and can't stop chewing his hands
Who needs that many teeth anyway?! As long as he's asleep or being cuddled on the couch he's content at least.
How cool is it that Kendall's 1st birthday was on Mother's Day?! We got to celebrate Saturday! We drove back Saturday morning. Grace came over during nap and I met up with mom and Caitlin for a early Mother's Day lunch (first time in over 3 years we've eaten without a kid!). Then it was back to pick up little man and head to their house to celebrate Ms. K! I can't believe all 4 kiddos are over 1 now! The kids played hard and Josh grilled up a great dinner for us! Noah got to come, but we missed Chelsea and Mason (at the beach).
This girl is always on the move, tough to get pictures of any of them now!
Everyone thought Kendall would just dig in...not so much! She touched it so ladylike and then was done! Until Caitlin fed it to her inside. That girl sure can eat! Eli got more into it!
Derek came after work to celebrate for a little bit, then we had to rush home to put a very tired boy to bed! So glad we got to be there to celebrate this little princess of the family, she is just precious! We quickly got to celebrate Mother's Day. I have the funniest mom and no one knows you like your mom. She talks more sense into me every day as I've gotten older. We both have that trait of telling it like it is :) She definitely keeps us laughing and having fun and that is contagious! Thanks for being such an awesome mom, Mimi! We didn't get to see Derek's mom this weekend, but they had a fun time at the lake and we'll see them in a few weeks at the beach! She is an awesome mom to Derek and we are both blessed to have supportive moms!
We also grew up with no personal space ;) or filter, ha!
Sounds weird that this was my 2nd Mother's Day! Last one before I'm a mom of 2! This cute, serious, stubborn baby made me a mom and he'll always hold an extra special place in my heart! I've had some tough jobs before. I've been yelled at by patients more than I can count, threatened by patients, peed/pooped/vomited on, and worked some long nurse shifts...nothing compares to the toughness of being a parent. Whether you stay at home or work, a mom's job is exhausting and equally so rewarding! Since Derek worked, Colin and I hung out at the house and had a pj day. He's been a sweetie all day and making me laugh! His snuggles were extra special today! Colin (with a little help from daddy) got me a spa package for a gift. I get to spend 3 straight hours getting a massage, facial, and pedicure on Wednesday and I am so excited! Absolutely the best type of Mother's Day present on earth (especially for a preggo mom!). Thank you my boys!
Even got nap snuggles, he fell asleep as we read his book and wouldn't let go when I got up to put him down. Love this big boy!
We did have to run to get a few things at Publix, so Colin got his first free cookie for being so good. Even mama got lucky with some bites :)
Mother's Day gifts from Colin that he did at school :) Definitely keeping these so I can remember those crooked right toes :)
I got these 2 sneak pics from our family pics last weekend. He was definitely over the picture taking after 5 minutes...she got some cute ones though!
Our family of (almost) 4!! Can't wait to see the rest!
