Lately

We ended last week with a few play dates! We met Morgan (and her baby bump!) for dinner and dessert! Lettie came over Friday morning for a bit to play and had a blast playing with Eli. They were pregnant with stuffed animals for a while :)

Goofy babe!

Noah's family came for the evening to play too one night!

Our little man has been quite the handful the past few weeks. Walking+traveling+colds have kept us on our toes. We have many tantrums these days about the silliest things and he loves to fling himself backwards and flail around on the ground. We basically don't give him any negative attention and just distract him with something else or give him a minute to compose, ha. He usually pops back up fine and ready to go again though. We laugh and pull our hair out deep down inside simultaneously :)

It's definitely exhausting for us, but I know he's frustrated not being able to clearly communicate with us.

The other day he screamed and thrashed until I finally figured out he wanted his shoes on. Just to watch Mickey Mouse. OK....

Saturday Terry and Donna were in town and Derek had the weekend off. We went to hang with them at Seth and Jess's. We soaked up the wonderful weather!

Sunday we met with everyone at Cracker Barrel and then went to the park for a bit. Colin was not having any of it...we know something's up when the park doesn't make him happy. We got a few happy shots though.

Poor babe called it a day. I've learned one huge lesson with Colin...don't push him. ha. When he says he's done, you will pay if you don't listen ;)

We came home for a big nap and he seemed to be a little more energetic afterwards. We went for a long wagon ride with Caitlin's crew, then Derek and Josh grilled out while we played on the deck. It was such great weather, after we put the kids down, we enjoyed some adult time around the fire pit.

The fire-keeper, Caitlin :)

They don't call it mom's intuition for nothing...I kept telling Derek that he's had such a off week and wasn't himself while he was at work. He never had a fever or cough etc...Everyone told me that this was the new normal at 15 months and we figured that that, plus walking, was probably our answer. Well let me tell you, I prayed HARD that his was untrue ;) This momma is worn out putting our whiney fits every 5 minutes plus not eating good and wasn't ready to accept this as a new normal! Ha. This morning Colin woke up and threw up on me. We went to sit down and he just wouldn't stop crying...nothing helped. I noticed his ear smelt sour. Well, Saturday I noticed that too (thanks Chelsea for the heads up on that! Gross stuff!) but he had no symptoms otherwise. After crying through his favorite movie, Derek and I took him to Dr. Soong. Ta-da! 1st ear infections...I think she was even surprised considering he was pretty much asymptomatic minus the crying/not eating much. Thank goodness it was just that though and is super easy to treat. Flu test was negative. Big C is napping good now and should already be feeling better by tonight! Looks like my buddy gets to skip school tomorrow!

Poor bud. Hasn't been this pitiful since he had RSV at around 3 months old. Those animals didn't leave that kids arms today.
