Derek and Brittany Plus One!: Colin is 3!!

3 sounds so grown, right?! To me he seems, and sometimes acts, so much older than 3, but I remember rocking him to sleep like it was yesterday. Colin is definitely his own person now with a small mix of Derek and I's personalities. Everyone knows how stubborn and shy he can be, but he's come out of his shell lately and has become a pretty funny dude. He loves making Connor laugh and will do anything (including pretending to get hurt) to get him to smile. He is so tender-hearted (especially with Connor) and even though he's always been a momma's boy, he's giving daddy way more attention than me these days. He sings to Connor when he's crying, talks to Ellie like she's real, and is constantly telling us that we're "going to have fun" whenever we leave the house. He's been such a blessing and it's been fun watching him grow!

He's a big boy, weighing in at 34lbs (76%) and 39inches (79%). He goes to the doctor next week to see how tall he is. He's had no potty accidents for a week now and loves showing us how he stands to pee :) He is getting more adventurous with food and will try anything. He talks non-stop and is learning so much at school! He can sight-read a lot of letters now. He still loves Ellie like she's a sister. He loves wearing hats like daddy. He loves gymnastics at the gym (but won't let the teacher put him upside down). If he could live outside, I think he would :) He doesn't care for TV much these days, but when it's on he prefers Thomas the train or diggers. He still loves all construction trucks, firetrucks, school buses.

This morning the boys slept in and when Colin got up we told him he was finally 3! He was surprised by the streamers on his door and was excited to wear his fire truck birthday shirt to school! He got to open his present from us (big, water spraying fire truck) and then we headed to school. He had a little party at school with cookies and they sang Happy Birthday to him. He really loved that :) After school was naps and then fire truck and outside play with cupcakes to end the day! I'm so glad Derek was off today to celebrate with him :)
