Mother's Day

I am so glad that I got to celebrate Mother's Day with my own little man! It still seems strange that this guy is ours and isn't going anywhere anytime soon! We are enjoying him so much and I'm glad I get to celebrate him today:)

We had our celebration last night since today we will be in Georgia. Derek made me a wonderful steak dinner...even Colin had a bowl of mashed potatoes :) Colin gave me a beautiful monogram necklace with Colin's birthstone! So sweet! I also got an hour massage, yay :) My body is always so sore from Pure Barre class!

I wouldn't be here if it weren't for my own mother! hehe. I can truly say that having a baby of my own really connected the dots for me on how great of a mom she was/is. We have had many ups and downs and definitely don't agree on everything ;), but she is my mom and there is no love like your mom's. I appreciate her so much more; especially how hard she worked during our childhood to raise 3 wild kids. She taught us to be independent and to not fear new things. She also encouraged us to have our own lives and dreams and to do everything 100%... no excuses or quitting! Those things I cherish more not that I have Colin and I hope to teach him the same!

She always makes us laugh...and our friends ;) My friends loved coming over to chat in high school! Our childhood was filled with so much laughter; mostly thanks to her and her wacky sense of humor! No matter what though, she is there for us. I remember her always reminding me that she wasn't my friend, but was my mom and I SOO get that now, even though we argued about that all the time ;) I actually believe she bought me a pillow once I was out of college that stated something about we can be friends now..haha.

Thanks mom for being you and all the crazy things that comes with. Hope you are having a spectacular Mother's Day in California with Caitlin's family!

I also am surrounded by such wonderful mothers! Derek's mom is such a wonderful example of a great mother and I know Derek and Jessica feel blessed to have had her as their mom :) She has been a great mentor to me! My grandma still amazes me with how much she cares and loves us all. I've also learned so much about being a good mom from Caitlin, Chelsea, and my friends here in Chattanooga. I hope all of you mothers have a great Mother's Day! I love you all :)

Kendall Rose

Sweet miss Kendall Rose made her entrance dramatically today May 10th! We have a niece! She may get just a little spoiled being the only girl in this wild boy bunch of grandkids!

She was 6 lbs 8 ounces and 19.5 inches. She is so cute with all that hair and I think she looks just like Josh!

Caitlin looks great for such an excitement-filled day and I wish we could have been there!!
Can't wait to meet her in 2 months!!

Cutie pie

Holding Derek' childhood bear :)
Happiest when naked!
This cup now goes with us everywhere. Errands and all.
Taking in the sites at the aquarium. Finally watching all the fish!
Pretty butterflies eating fruit!
New otter exhibit at the aquarium
Otters playing :)
Switching positions 100 times a night.

Always making me laugh playing with his toys!

Growing Nugget

This little dude is now 27.5 inches! That's 73%. His weight is 52% and his head is 95% ;) He's finally jumped over the 50th percentile and growing fast! Hey got 5 more shots Monday and really handled them like a champ! Only fussed twice that night. Which is great compared to the few nights before that when he was flipping/waking up 5-7 times again :/

Monday was Cinco de Mayo so I made fajitas, sides, and Derek made margaritas to celebrate. Our neighbors Alicia and Mitzi came over too!

Today we got to go eat lunch with Leigh before doing some important moving errands. We don't see her enough and now we are moving away :( We've been starting to say our goodbyes to people and places we visit frequently. We will definitely miss some of our favorite restaurants and the aquarium too!

A little play mat fun after cleaning out closets. Colin was rubbing Derek's head. They are too cute :)

Last night Derek and I had a dinner and movie date night! First date in a while!! I love our little nugget, but love this man even more! He'll always be #1 and we have to get back to our weekly dates :)

Yummy Blue Water and then saw Captain America
Today is Derek's last day of 3 off with us so we all went to the gym and headed to the car lot. We've been looking at trucks for years and think he finally found 'the one' ;)

This was the 2nd choice truck. It's so nice and Colin fit perfectly in the back! Of course he had to throw up a whole food pouch in his car seat while test driving...never a dull moment!!

Virginia

Colin and I went on a road trip Friday-Sunday! Cousin Josh's wedding was Saturday so we rode up with Poppy and Mimi. Colin was such a good traveler. I brought all of his favorite toys and downloaded Mickey Mouse on my kindle. Only stopped 2 or 3 times for food and no screaming :)

Friday we drove to cousin Paula and Greg's farm. They live on a lot of farm land and have
lots of animals! It was so peaceful and Colin was amazed by everything.

Paula and Greg collect beautiful rugs and the coolest antiques! They travel so many places and each one has such a neat story! I remember thinking how awesome their house was when I was younger visiting there.
Sweet big Fred. Colin was amazed and wants one :)
First time seeing horses! Surprisingly none of the animals scared him. Mimi used to love riding horses so she was in her element.
Looking over the pond at the vineyards and visiting the goats...even though Colin was more interested in Fred :)

Saturday we woke up, Colin helped feed all the animals,  and we went to the hotel to check in.

*First hotel stay* They messed up our suite, so we ended up with a 2 bedroom suite. YAY for me getting a bed next to this cutie :)

After some lunch and driving around some where Dad has to come travel for business, we headed to the wedding.

One of the places Dad travels to pretty frequently

It was such nice weather and the wedding went great. Aunt Roberta decorated so cute. It was great to catch up with family I haven't seen in over 5 years! Colin got plenty of attention of course ;)

My cute wedding date...he took a nice little nap while we were there in his stroller.

Kiss the bride!
Poppy's buddy this weekend!
Sweet great-grandma kisses :) Colin was a big fan of her necklace!

Pretty cousin Courtney and proud sister of the groom!
Miss seeing these sweet cousins every summer!! Josh married the cutest girl, Britnee!

The McCotter kids! With the groom and bride photo-bombing the pic, ha.
 Some of the family!
More family :)

Sunday we got up and had breakfast with everyone and hit the road. We had a few stops and Colin tried his first lemon. He had such a funny reaction...although he still wanted to bite on it!

I was so glad Colin did well in the car for so long. We were both happy to get home and pass out in our beds. Derek was happy to have us back too and get to see his little man :)
