2 Months!!

On December 28th you turned 2 months old Colin!! You are such a happier baby every week! This month we changed to a special non-milk formula that seems to help you a lot. Hopefully there won't have to be anymore food changes! You drink 2-4 ounces every 3-4 hours. Your reflux seems to be improving too!

What a difference a month makes!!

You are 12 lbs now and I'll get your length at your 2 month appointment coming up! Time for the 1st round of vaccines when we go too :(

This month you celebrated your first Christmas! We had a few road trips too- Blue Ridge, Birmingham, and Huntsville. You did really well on all of our trips!

You had your first illness this month-RSV. It took almost 2 weeks to kick it, but you handled it pretty well and we avoided the hospital and breathing treatments!

This month your dad was on research and was pretty much home everyday with us!! You sure do love him!

You actually love the swing now and take your naps in it everyday! You still sleep in your bouncy chair at night, a habit we started when you got sick and needed to be propped up. We will have to work on getting back to the crib this month! You still like being swaddled for naps and at night. During the day you like having your hands free and you are working on hand control. They move to your mouth, a lot! You also still love your pappy, but don't need it at night!

You love bath time now and still would rather be on your changing pad than anywhere else! Your head control is getting great and you love to be carried over our shoulders so you can see everything! You have the cutest smiles! Your whole face smiles :) I will have to load some videos, but around 6 weeks you started mimicking our mouths, trying to talk back to us. Sometimes you just stick your tongue out back at us :) This past week you have been blurting out some new sounds, it's nice to hear sounds other than screaming loudly :) You are getting so grown so fast!! It's so fun to watch you learn new things!

Each week you get cuter! Excited to see how much you change this next month!

~Merry Christmas~

We had a great first Christmas as a family of 3! We woke up and had breakfast casserole and opened our stockings! We did like last year and just did stockings. We had a 20$ limit and just bought some little funny things. Candy included, of course!
We got the cats a few balls too...got new stockings this year from Pottery Barn and love them!

My parents were originally going to come see us Christmas day, but my brother had to get back to Birmingham for work. So Christmas Eve we decided to pack up and head to Huntsville to surprise them all after we did our Christmas morning fun.

Colin was an angel driving there :) Our car was packed!!

We went to my parents house first and hung out with them, Noah, and Chelsea and opened some gifts. I drew my Dad's name and Josh sent my mom's gift. She asked for a lantern....haha. Love my mother. They were extra sweet and got us some chocolates and cash too! We sure did miss Josh, Caitlin, and Eli :(

The lantern ;)

 1st family Christmas!

So excited to take pictures ;) Hehe

Then we headed to the Pattersons to surprise them, Seth, and Jessica. We enjoyed lounging around the house and opening gifts. Colin got a few fun toys, books, a blanket and an exersaucer!
Derek got some good techie stuff and I got some good gift cards to shop!

It was a busy, but great Christmas! Excited for next Christmas..we'll be in Birmingham and Colin will have a blast being older with new toys!

*Christmas Eve*

Merry Christmas EVE! We've had a good relaxing day around the house. Since Colin is so little, we skipped seeing Santa this year and doing some traditions that we will do in the future...like Christmas cookies and Christmas eve church service.

We did dress him cute :)

Derek surprised me with the greatest Christmas gift- canvases for Colin's room! We have talked about doing these before he was born but never got around to it. I am a lucky lady to have such a thoughtful husband! We put them up today!

Derek grilled us some great bacon wrapped steaks for dinner (we get a lot of things in the mail for the previous house owners and we have started keeping the good ones, like steaks!)

We of course had to watch Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer claymation movie :) It's Derek's favorite! Colin slept in his swing basically the whole day, haha. Maybe still recovering from this weekend?

Looking forward to a low key Christmas morning with our boy!

~A few pics from yesterday morning...such a smiley morning boy~

Birmingham!

Most important news of today---Colin went 7 hours last night between eating :) Bless Derek, he slept on the couch after his 830 feed to do the next one, and Colin woke him up at 330. I got to sleep until the next feed-630 so this momma got 10 glorious straight hours of sleep :) I think Birmingham definitely wore him out being on the go so much! He got up for good at 630 and was in the best mood! I think it was Colin's Christmas gift to me ;)

All smiles after eating and seeing Derek coming in the living room!

Little man started feeling much better by Friday, so we headed to Birmingham Saturday morning to visit and help Seth and Jessica move! Colin was a trooper for the 2 hour trip and we first went to see Noah and Chelsea and their new place! I can't believe their little man will be here in less than 12 weeks! Noah is recovering from a broken right hand :(

 Such naturals ;)
This Christmas we drew names for gifts. Derek drew Noah's and Chelsea drew mine, so we did our gift exchange while we were there! Happy to be moving closer to them in just 6 months, we sure do miss being close! Soon our little guys will be playing together!

We met up with Ross and Laura for lunch at Jacksons then headed over to help with the move! Seth and Jess bought such a nice house just down the street from their other house so the move went pretty fast and was pretty much done once we got there. We got to visit with Derek's parents some before they went back to Huntsville. Colin even got some snuggling time with Seth!

Colin rocking his little man outfit!

We stayed at their place and spent most of Sunday cleaning the new place and running errands. Colin was really a trooper the whole weekend, he slept in the Bjorn as we cleaned and worked.

Last stop on the way back to Chatty was to see Kate and Dave! I miss my Kate and we don't see them enough! Colin has so many people to meet and so little time ;)

We are ready to be living closer to all these lovely people again! Soon :)
One day I will post some pictures that don't always have Colin in them..haha. He is just much cuter than anything else I take pictures of!

Staying in Chatty this week and having our first Christmas as a family of 3! Derek is off all week! Then heading to Huntsville this weekend! This kiddo is becoming a travel machine!
